Graffiti je druh výtvarného projevu spočívající ve vytvoření výtvarného díla pomocí sprejových barev. Protože je však většinou vytvářen nelegálně (např. na domech, památkách, dopravních prostředcích apod.), jde o závažnou formu vandalismu, která je v České republice trestným činem. Samotný termín graffiti je vzdáleně spřízněný s pojmem sgrafito, oba vychází z původního řeckého slovesa γραφειν (grafein - psát).
Základní pojmy
- Writer – člověk, který vytváří graffiti
- Crew – skupina writerů, která pracuje společně
- Toy – začátečník (mezi sprejery se tento výraz používá spíše jako vulgarismus)
- Can – plechovka spreje
- Cap – tryska na spreje
- Guru – učitel
- Bachař - člověk nesprejující, ale hlídající sprejery před případným nebezpečím např. policie, větší počet procházejících lidí atd.
- Korouhev - celý úplný název crew (writera), který něco znamená např.GNK crew GyNeKolog, ABS crew ABStynent, TSZ crew Ty Si Zmrd atd.
- Fatcap – tryska s nejširší stopou (až 20 cm tlustá plná stopa)
- Skinnycap – tryska s nejužší stopou
- Tag – podpis writera, důraz na kompozici
- Piece – barevné graffiti, důraz na tvary písma a celkovou barevnou kompozici
- Chrom – stříbrno-černé graffiti, důraz na tvar
- Trow-up – rychlé graffiti, důraz na jednoduchost
- Strup - podtržení tagu
- Rooftop – piece/trow-up/chrom na střeše
- End to end – panely přes celý vagón
- Máselnice - crew nebo writer známý tím, že svede nebo dělá pouze tagy
- Sýrovice - crew nebo writer známý tím, že dělá jenom legální zdi
- Sketch – skica
- Panel – graffiti na vagonu vlaku
- Backjump (BJ) – namalování panelu za provozu soupravy
- Wholecar (WC) – graffiti přes celou plochu vagonu
- Vostráček - graffiti s ostrým zakončením písmene
- Vokrouhláček - graffiti s kulatým tupým zakončením písmene
- Wholetrain (WT) – graffiti přes celou soupravu
- Oneman barevný wholecar – barevné graffiti přes celou plochu vagonu vytvořené jedním writerem, obecně to můžeme pokládat za vrchol nelegální tvorby writera
